Open 0xr.space in the Meta Quest browser on a Quest 2 or Quest Pro, press Open and choose a file, then press View in your space. It works the same way as on a Quest 3: hands or controllers, the dock, section planes and exploded views. The free Model Explorer app on the Horizon Store lists only Quest 3 and Quest 3S, so on these headsets use the website.

These headsets have a slower graphics chip, so a heavy model opened from your files is shown as a lighter copy of about 350,000 triangles, half what a Quest 3 gets. A model over 2.5 million triangles, or with a thousand or more separate parts, waits for that copy before it is drawn. A Gaussian splat is held to about 300,000 splats on a headset that reports 4 GB of memory or less.

## Steps

1. Put the file on the headset: a cloud drive opened in the browser, or a USB cable into the Download folder.
2. Open 0xr.space in the Quest browser and press Open.
3. Choose the file. A heavy model is copied into a lighter one the first time, once.
4. Press View in your space, and use your hands or controllers to place and turn it.

## Questions

### Can I install the Model Explorer app on a Quest 2?

No. The Store listing is for Quest 3 and Quest 3S. The website does the same work in the browser.

### Why does my model look less detailed than on a computer?

The headset is showing its lighter copy, so it keeps a steady frame rate. The file itself is unchanged.

### Will a large model open at all?

Usually, after the copy is built. A model whose copy cannot be built opens as it is, and may run slowly.

### Is my file uploaded?

No. It is read and copied on the headset, and nothing is sent to a server unless you create a share link yourself.
