What you can inspect

GLB, glTF and USDZ

Import a local file or a glTF folder with its buffers and textures. Zero prepares it on this device.

Geometry, wireframes, UVs

Switch between the original appearance, wireframe view and UV inspection to see how the asset is built.

Real-world scale

Place a model in mixed reality and inspect it against your surroundings, hands first.

About Model Explorer and FAQ

Explore 3D Models on Meta Quest and Android XR

Model Explorer is a browser-based workspace for opening and understanding 3D assets on Meta Quest and Android XR. Use it in a supported browser to review a model before a presentation, spatial prototype, product decision or production handoff. The familiar web entry point keeps the workflow lightweight while WebXR provides an immersive way to examine the same asset in space.

Inspect GLB, glTF and USDZ Assets

Import a local GLB or USDZ file, or a glTF folder with its related buffers and textures. Model Explorer prepares the asset on your device and lets you examine the rendered result without first publishing it to a remote service. Materials, model structure and visual details stay available in one inspection workflow. If you searched for a GLB, glTF or USDZ viewer, Model Explorer adds deeper exploration tools beyond simply displaying the file.

Analyze Geometry, Wireframes, UVs and Scale

Switch between the original appearance, wireframe view and UV inspection to understand how the asset is constructed. Wireframes help reveal topology and geometric density, while the UV view makes texture mapping easier to review. Model information and scale controls support practical checks of dimensions and proportions, helping identify issues that can be difficult to notice in a flat preview.

Explore Models at Real-World Scale in Mixed Reality

On a WebXR-capable headset browser, place a model into mixed reality and inspect it relative to your physical surroundings. True-scale exploration helps answer whether an object feels appropriately sized before it is manufactured, installed or added to a spatial experience. Hands-first interaction lets you position, rotate and scale the model naturally. Availability depends on the WebXR capabilities and permissions provided by the current browser and device.

Local-First Model Exploration

Imported model files are processed and stored locally by default, so you can inspect private or unfinished work without uploading it to Model Explorer. No account is required for the core exploration workflow. A model leaves the device only when you explicitly choose a sharing action, keeping local review separate from intentional collaboration.

Model Explorer FAQ

How is Model Explorer different from a basic 3D model viewer?

A basic viewer mainly displays an asset. Model Explorer also provides wireframe, UV and scale inspection, plus real-world mixed reality placement for a more complete review workflow.

Can I open GLB files on Meta Quest?

Yes. Open Model Explorer in Meta Quest Browser and import a local GLB file. Mixed reality features require WebXR permission from the browser.

Does Model Explorer support glTF folders and USDZ files?

Yes. You can import glTF folders with their referenced resources or local USDZ files. Model Explorer prepares supported assets on your device for inspection.

Can I use Model Explorer on Android XR?

Model Explorer is designed for WebXR-capable browsers on Android XR. Available immersive features depend on the browser, device capabilities and permissions.

Can I inspect wireframes and UVs?

Yes. The spatial controls include original, wireframe and UV views for inspecting geometry and texture mapping.

Can I view a model at real-world scale?

Yes. Scale controls and mixed reality placement let you inspect supported models relative to your physical environment.

Do I need to upload my 3D model?

No. Imports stay on your device by default. A model is shared only when you explicitly choose a sharing action.

Do I need to install an app or create an account?

No. The core workflow runs in a supported browser without an account. The site can also be installed as a PWA when the browser offers that option.
