The MiG29, known in NATO circles as the "Fulcrum," is a twinengine jet fighter aircraft designed in the Soviet Union during the late Cold War period. It first took to the skies in 1977 and entered service in 1983 as a prominent component of the Soviet Air Force's tactical aviation. The MiG29 was developed by Mikoyan to counter contemporary American fighters such as the F15 Eagle and the F16 Fighting Falcon.
