The house fly, scientifically known as Musca domestica, is a common insect that is ubiquitous in environments frequented by humans. As a member of the family Muscidae, it has a grayish body with four distinct longitudinal lines on its thorax, slightly hairy appearance, and one pair of translucent wings. The house fly plays a role in various ecological systems; however, it is often deemed a pest due to its tendency to carry and transmit diseases such as typhoid fever, cholera, and dysentery.
