A circuit board, often known as a printed circuit board (PCB), is a foundational component in virtually all electronic devices. It is a slim, flat piece of material, usually made from fiberglass, epoxy, or other composite materials, onto which electronic components such as diodes, resistors, and integrated circuits are mounted. The primary purpose of a circuit board is to mechanically support and electrically connect these components using conductive pathways, tracks, or signal traces etched from copper sheets laminated onto a nonconductive substrate.
