The Macintosh Classic is a personal computer designed, manufactured, and sold by Apple Computer, Inc. from 1990 to 1992. This model was the first Apple Macintosh to sell for less than US$1,000. It was offered in the standard Motorola 68000-based architecture, with a built-in 9" monochrome display with 512 × 342-pixel resolution. The Macintosh Classic significantly contributed to the mainstream acceptance of home computing.
