How to play a GLB animation in VR or AR

Open the GLB, glTF or VRM on 0xr.space and enter VR or AR: once the model is placed, its first animation clip plays and loops by itself. In a browser, press More, then Animation, then Start. Stop puts the model back in its rest pose, and Next Clip moves to the next clip when the file has more than one. It works on Meta Quest, on an Android phone and on a computer.

Only glTF, GLB and VRM animations play. FBX, USDZ, Collada, .blend and the other formats open in a still pose, because their animation is not read. Clip names are not shown, and there is no timeline, speed control or scrubbing. Animation stops while the model is exploded, and the Animation row is hidden when the file has no clips.

Questions

Why does my FBX not move?

FBX animation is not read; the model opens in its bind pose. Export it from Blender as GLB with animation and open that.

Can I choose a clip by name?

No. Next Clip steps through the clips in the file's order, without their names.

Does it loop?

Yes. A clip plays round until you press Stop or Next Clip.

Is my file uploaded?

No. It is read on the device, and nothing is sent to a server unless you create a share link yourself.
